About The Team

The Papworth Team Ministry is a Team of Anglican Parishes which came into being on July 1st 2000. It comprises thirteen parishes covering an area the size of Milton Keynes to the west of the city of Cambridge.

The parishes which have come together to form the Team Ministry are Bourn and Kingston with Caxton and Longstowe, Boxworth, Elsworth and Knapwell, Papworth Everard, Eltisley and Croxton, Toseland, Yelling and Graveley with Papworth St Agnes.

They are the western half of Bourn deanery - this is entirely composed of villages running west from Cambridge. They retain their rural character, but are home for people who work not only in the localities, but also in Cambridge, Huntingdon, Peterborough, other local towns, and in London.

Cambourne

The largest settlement in the deanery will be the new town of Cambourne. This is situated within the area covered by the team, and currently has about 600 inhabited dwellings. It is intended eventually to grow to a population of 11,000.

It is served by an ecumenical church of its own.
